Knitted Flower Brooch & Box

For the box lid I used white card printed with paper from Polkadoodles Sundae of Seasons CD, the flowers are stamps that came with Craft Stamper magazine, I stamped them with black ink and heat embossed them, and put sticky gems in the centres.


For the scalloped circle I used white card decorated with blue and green marbling inks, I then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I also inked around the edges and embossed that too. I also used the same marbled card to stamp the flowers on. Punched out butterflies and baker's twine wrapped round the scalloped circle.

Inside the box is a knitted flower brooch, the outer blue petals I knit with aran wool and the inner green petals are double knitting. The pattern is from this book.

Wine Bottle Easel Card

This week at Polkadoodles they're having a blog hop, and their challenge is to make a male themed project, and to include a button and a circle. I made this thank you easel card to enter into the challenge.


All elements for the card are by Polkadoodles - the backing papers are from their Father's Day download, which Nikky is kindly giving as a freebie for the duration of the hop, the wine bottle and glass are from the Not For Girls CD and the lettering is from the Candy Doodles CD.



I also added a wine cork as the easel stopper, made a wine glass charm for the glass, added string and raffia, a button, Cuttlebug embossing and a bit of glitter.

I would also like to enter this into Stampin With The Dragon's challenge to make an easel card.

Eddie's New Blanket

It's Eddie's birthday today, he's 14, and here he is with the crocheted blanket I made him.


Made in double crochet using wool from my stash that I've gathered over the years.

Sea Shells Stitch Markers & Flowers

Butterfly Glasses Chain

A glasses chain I made from Tibetan silver butterflies, irridescent glass beads and tiny purple seed beads.

Hedgehogs & Ladybird

Late last year we found a baby hedgehog in our garden, he was underweight and unlikely to survive the winter so I took him to our local RSPCA wildlife hospital. On Sunday they phoned to say he was ready to be released back into the wild, so yesterday we collected him, and also another hedgehog and last night let them both go at the bottom of our garden.

We're putting food out for them every night to help them along and we're hoping they'll be regular visitors to the garden.

And this morning while tidying the garden we came across this 7 spot ladybird.

Stitch Markers & Glasses Chains

A set of stitch markers and a few glasses chains I've made over the last few days.

Silver Bird Earrings

I made these from Tibetan silver birds, sterling silver earwires and spacer beads, and blue seed beads.

Knitted Wire Bracelet

I made this bracelet using a kit from The Crazy Wire Company.


Really easy and fun to make, takes ages to thread on all the beads, but worth it in the end :-)

Autumn Crow & Spring Frogs

I made this card using Autumn Crow by Meljen's Designs.

The papers I used are from Pink Petticoat, their Autumn Blossom collection.

I coloured the image with pencils, and added buttons, sticky gems, scrunched up flower, garden string and some hand stitching.

And some pictures from our pond, we have loads of frogs in our garden and this week some frogspawn appeared, a sign that spring has arrived :-)

Polkadoodles Challenge & Cross Stitch Dog

The challenge at Polkadoodles this week is to use a stamp, two ribbons and a charm.


The birds stamp is Crafty Individuals, leafy backing paper from Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD, satin and organza ribbon from my stash, scrunched up flowers and bird charm with tiny seed beads.



This one I made from a pattern from Cross Stitcher magazine, stitched onto 28 count linen, with beads sewn on for nose and eye.
