Christmas Gift Cards

Some gift cards I made for Christmas, all using papers and images from Polkadoodles,

the reindeer cards using the Jingle Jangle Christmas CD, with the addition of glitter glue, organza ribbon, gingham ribbon and sticky pearls.

The gingerbread men and gingham paper are from the Sundae of Seasons CD, and I tied orange garden string down the side.

All the cards have a pocket on the front, containing a tiny envelope with a gift inside.

Tealite Holder Card

A Christmas tealite holder card I made for a friend, the instructions for it are on this DVD from Crafter's Companion.

The papers and reindeer stamp were from magazines, the snowflakes are punched out, glittered and card candi added to the centres.

I matted the patterned paper onto green bazzil card, stuck the reindeer onto a scalloped oval cut with a Spellbinders die which I embossed with a Cuttlebug swiss dots folder, and added a couple of raffia bows.

And here's the box I made for it, the dotty paper was also a freebie from a magazine.

Knitted Stocking Cards

I knitted the little stockings and stuck them onto a scalloped oval cut from a Spellbinders die and embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder. The holly paper came with a magazine last year.

I sewed a star shape on this one with glittery thread, and tied the same thread round the card,

and on this one I stitched a button and added some organza ribbon.

Here's how I made the stockings:

With 3mm needles and double knitting wool cast on 10 sts and work 6 rows in garter stitch (every row knit).

Next row - cast off 1 st at beginning of row.

Next row - knit together last 2 sts at end of row.

Next row - cast off 1 st at beginning of row.

Next row - knit together last 2 sts at end of row.

You now have 6 sts.

Knit 11 rows in garter stitch, then knit 6 rows with 1 strand of white double knitting wool and 1 strand of glittery yarn. Cast off.

Finish off by sewing a button in the centre or embroider a star in glittery yarn.

Christmas Reindeer

Another card using Polkadoodle's Jingle Jangle Christmas CD for the backing papers, and the reindeer from their Christmas Boutique magazine and kit.

Brown pearlescent card for the card base, Spellbinders die behind the reindeer, die cut and punched out snowflakes with sticky pearls in the centres, with lots of glitter. The merry christmas is a Polkadoodles stamp and the name printed on the computer and cut out with a Spellbinders die.
