C.R.A.F.T Challenge 35 Paper Piecing

This week the challenge at C.R.A.F.T is paper piecing, and if like me you've not tried this technique before there's a great tutorial on the C.R.A.F.T challenge blog by design team member Julie.

The prize this week is from DT member Claire, any 3 images of your choice from her shop Hope Jacare at Shophandmade.

For my DT card I have used one of Claire's images, Tilly Teddy.

I have paper pieced Tilly using My Mind's Eye orange spotty paper, plus other papers from my stash. The dark red paper is embossed with the Cuttlebug Daisies folder, and I stitched a border of brown wool. The flowers and dragonflies are die cut with sticky gems and glitter added to the centres.

Twirly Scarf & Fingerless Mitten Gloves

Some Christmas knitting I did for a friend and her daughter.

The twirly scarf is from a kit from Alpaca Select. The wool is 50% alpaca and lovely to knit with! The colours in the scarf are gorgeous and looks much nicer in real life than in the photo.

I knit the mittens in some 100% 4 ply pure wool I've had for a couple of years, just waiting for the right project to knit with it!

Dog Birthday Card

A friend asked me to make this card for her friend's birthday, using a photo of her dog. I just cut round the dog, and added a frame of stamped bones and pawprints.

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 33

This week at C.R.A.F.T the challenge is to follow a sketch, supplied by one of our design team, Ei.

For my DT card I've used Crate Paper backing papers, Cuttlebug embossed butterfly and die cut flowers, with lace, buttons and sticky pearls. The sentiment is from the Polkadoodles Daisy Doodles stamp set.

The prize this week is from Craft Obsessions, a set of 6 promarkers in the colours of your choice, and they've also got a sale on at the moment in their online store where they sell a huge range of crafting goodies.

Also, at C.R.A.F.T we're looking for Guest Designers each month starting in February, for more details go and have a look at the C.R.A.F.T challenge blog!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 32- Resist Technique

This week at C.R.A.F.T we want you to use a resist technique in your work, if you go over to the C.R.A.F.T challenge blog you'll find a great tutorial by one of our DT Ei, where she explains two ways of doing resist.

I haven't done resist before and I had a lot of fun trying out different colour combinations and stamps. For my card I have started off with a square of plain white card, and sponged over it with several different colours of ink. After leaving the ink to dry I stamped the flowers with clear ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged all over the surface of the card with black ink, then with a paper towel I wiped the ink from the stamped flowers. The bird and flowers are die cut with a sparkly brad added for the bird's eye.

Our sponsor this week is Your Special Delivery, and the prize is this lovely collection of digistamps:Also this week we're sorry to see Anesha, Peggy and Jodie leave the C.R.A.F.T DT, and wish them all the very best for the future.

New Year Cards

A couple of cards I made using Polkadoodle's Back To Nature CD.

For the card base I used plain blue card, hand cut the branch, added glitter to finish computer printed the sentiment.

Hedgehog Christmas Card

I made this Christmas card using the Jayne Netley Mayhew collection CD from Joanna Sheen. I made it a bit more Christmassy by stamping and embossing snowflakes onto the backing paper. The fibres are from My Mind's Eye.
